With only three ships, this cruise line concentrates on quality, not quantity. With a nearly one-to-one ratio of crew member to passenger, you won't be left wanting for anything. Finishing touches elevate the cruise experience. A welcome aboard bottle of champagne chilling in your room, Chanel soap, Bose Wave sound systems and complimentary wine or liquor are just a few of the perks. It's hard to imagine sailing any other way.
Most passengers are over 60 and somewhat reserved. You won't find a lot of families since there are no kids' programs or childcare facilities. While one-week cruises are beginning to draw younger couples, they don't come aboard with kids in tow.
All rooms are suites with windows and come with a personal suite stewardess. This dedicated crewmember will keep your complimentary bar stocked to your tastes, draw your bath and serve you homemade cookies. The room features are also top-of-the-line. They include Egyptian cotton sheets, down duvet and feather pillows, flat-screen TV and DVD/CD players in each room.
Celebrity chef Charlie Palmer sets the tone. Gourmet food, whether you choose classic or lighter fare, is always on the menu. Their afternoon tea is sumptuously decadent, but if you want privacy, you can have room service delivered to your suite any time of the day or night - full menu choice, of course.
If you have a special diet, let Special Services know at least a month ahead of time and reconfirm with the maitre d' once you board ship.
Because the ships are smaller, they get into ports that aren't visited by the larger cruise lines. Shore excursions are also less run-of-the-mill with receptions at private villas or zip-line canopy tours. With customer satisfaction as Seabourn's main goal, you will find something to suit your level of exertion and sense of adventure. One shore excursion is included with your cruise.
