Destination Cruises

Sail the Seven Seas and beyond

With every major cruise line sailing to the Caribbean and Mediterranean, the choices can be overwhelming. It's not uncommon for competing cruise lines to race to port to disembark their passengers first. While Venice, Monte Carlo and Barbados are definitely worth seeing, you might spend more time standing in line than exploring. With so many cruise lines stationed in Florida, the Mexican Riviera is fast becoming a cruise line hot spot and is beginning to suffer the same over-use blues.

Keeping this in mind, we've listed some of the lesser-known cruises. While these can certainly sell out, you won't necessarily be elbow to elbow with competing cruise lines. Below are just a few of the interesting cruises offered, but don't limit yourself to our suggestions. As long as it's not landlocked, chances are someone's willing to sail you there.

  • Alaska Cruises - Most people associate cruises with scorching temperatures and warm waters, so the cooler weather and icy Pacific won't leap to mind. But the rugged Alaskan coast, breathtaking glaciers and awe-inspiring wildlife make this the perfect location for a cruise.
  • Hawaii Cruises - Tropical breezes, wild waves and ancient cultures make Hawaii seem a world away - although it's closer to the U.S. than Europe. These six islands are perfect for vacationing.
  • Nile Cruises - This mighty river made ancient Egypt one of the most powerful civilizations in history. Follow the path of the Pharaohs and sail back in time as you explore the ruins of a once-great empire that still sparks modern imaginations.
  • World Cruises - Where in the world will you go? If you can't decide, then tour the globe. Hitting all the major continents, a world cruise will satisfy your wanderlust and curiosity.
